Aside from the issue of musical instruments, there seem to be some odd perspective relationships going on in the painting. Examples: the basket of fruit at the top right sitting on a wood 'cabinet', the drawer of the table in relation to the cabinet and the table itself, the bowl of fruit at the lower right. Almost a forerunner of cubism, where objects are depicted from more than one vantage point at once.
