  Yes.  IF you are on a major label.  If you're not, the onus is on you to 
prove 
somehow that your music is being played somewhere.  All of my material is 
licensed through BMI, but since 1994 I have never seen a cent in royalries.
Plus, I don't think the money restaurants pay covers airplay on radio or 
television.  Those media pay their own share of fees and must turn in lists 
periodically so that statisticians can determine how much "Bridge Over 
Troubled Water" should get this year.  At least, that's the way it was when I 
worked in commercial radio.
