Spammers would indeed be something that would need to be managed on Facebook. Daniel's suggestion to use [1]http://lutegroup.ning.com/ is probably a better alternative as a forum - it would be much better to go to a page where topics are logically set out and easy to navigate rather than a bunch of email spam or an unordered list on Facebook. Facebook would be a better place for listing things for sale however, insofar as it would be more accessible to more people - I'd never heard of the Ning page before Daniel mentioned it. __________________________________________________________________

The advantage of email like the existing Lutelist is that it's largely immune from such machinations. I really don't want to see ads etc scrolling down the page..... regards Martyn On Sunday, 23 August 2020, 07:57:39 BST, Jay F. <existentialismy...@hotmail.com> wrote: Hi everyone, First, thanks to Wayne for creating this forum and maintaining it for such a long time - chapeau. It seems appropriate that we collectively try to find a new home ground for sharing information and listing our lutes for sale. One simple and straight forward solution might be just to set up a closed, invite only group on Facebook. It would allow us to kill those two birds with one stone (sharing information/listing lutes for sale). I am happy to set up the group and share a link for people to join if you're all interested? The only issue is getting a critical mass of people to join. Another solution is to... try to find another solution like a more traditional webpage forum. I don't have expertise in this area however. Thoughts?
