Hello, I´d like to point you to Michael´s post <https://michael.stapelberg.ch/posts/2019-08-17-introducing-distri/> https://michael.stapelberg.ch/posts/2019-08-17-introducing-distri/. Actually I see a huge benefit if containers where to specify I have a dependency to some image rather than including all code into it. With various containers using the same tools, a lot of code is duplicated rather than referenced. With LXD this is obviously addressed via deduplication in the file system (if configured to use btrfs or ZFS), but imho this is just inefficient. One has to patch all containers (whether docker or LXD individually, which is slow, and then deduplicate? Using distri and read-only package images supplied by the host one could get a lot better speed when updating plus less space or time used for duplicates.
Best Regards, Joachim
