A little experimenting with a GNOME live CD reveals the following.

gdmflexiserver does exist and does put up a login box if you run it. The GDM
pid is where it should be. I can put this back so we have at least that much
Switch User under GDM.

We have two complaints about LXTerminal not working the same as xterm.

One is that in xterm (verified), -e uses all the arguments to its right. So
you can say xterm -e alsamixer -c 1. In all of roxterm, lxterminal, and
gnome-terminal, you have to say -e "alsamixer -c 1". gnome-terminal has -x as
a work-alike for xterm -e.

The second is 2970290 if you say xterm -e "command", the customer claims it
works, although when I tried xterm -e ls -l, it exited. In all of roxterm,
lxterminal, and gnome-terminal, if you say that, it exits immediately. If you
run something that stays running, like the above alsamixer, it works.

Given that all three of those terminals behave that way, I am inclined to tell
the user won't-fix, and suggest they use xterm, but I am open to counter
argument.

In going through the bugs I note 2956093 2932913 2931228 2895626 are all
pcmanfm bugs misfiled in the lxde tracker. Please would the pcmanfm team get
these closed.
