At home I'm running on a laptop lubuntu 12.04 and have this problem.
At job I'm trying on lubuntu 12.10 virtual machine and have the same
problem.
The version 0.5.10 installed with the ubuntu debian package works, it's
only the
version installed with make install that doesn't (even if compiled from the
same source
code taken from the ubuntu repository with apt-get source)
