LXDE is not responsible for individual distribution's updating their
package management systems. This is a question better addressed to the
Gentoo devs: https://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/devrel/roll-call/userinfo.xml
Gentoo's package website lists the lxde-meta package still has 0.5.5-r3 as
the most recent stable version available, with only one release past that
on unstable.
