As a gentoo user, I must say the war currently raging against gtk2 might make your work a bit difficult, I've had to run a custom overlay for some time now. Most packages will work on gtk3 but not all look very nice on it.
There's a new dep on dev-libs/keybinder for lxpanel-0.8.0 too, just so you know. Feel free to nudge me regarding anything lxterminal related.
