sharing the solution since I raised the issue here.
Hopefully helpful for anyone else still having issues.
As stated, I contacted ao3 support directly.
They are committed to having lynx work on their platform, with one of the
site team first establishing that Lynx should still function, in spite of
cloudflair.
They requested the IP address I most commonly use for them, and added it
to whatever cloudflair uses server wise for clearance.
I can log in once more, and am remembered now, just as previously.
Worth donating to them each year for certain..beats fanfiction.net hands
down.
