In the options menu, is it not possible to make the "Save options to disk:"
checkbox checked by default? I find it frustrating to redo my changes
whenever I forget to check this box. 

IMHO, the behaviour should be tied to the 'no_option_save' restriction.
At least on Lynx/djgpp I don't see why there should be any restrictions
(no anonymous users etc.)
