I like to build my own RPMS from the sources, especially when testing
pre-releases. So I was not looking for prebuilt RPMS for lyx-1.0.4pre8.
However, I would appreciate an uptodate .spec file within the tarball.
That allows to build a binary RPM by simply saying "rpm -ta <tarball>".
You still only need to distribute the tarball but it allows others, like
myself, to test not only the use of lyx but also building RPMS under
RedHat.

I had not been paying much attention, so I wasn't aware of Kayvan's .spec
file. The one contained in the tarball is from 1.0.2. So my suggestion is
to include Kayvan's .spec file instead of the current .spec file. Maybe
one could even autogenerate the correct version number for the .spec file
with the configure script from a lyx.spec.in. That's the way it is done
now for the gnome packages.
