Oh well yes I remember now, it's the mail Jean-Marc forwarded me when
I still was in Argentina to have some work to do when I return #:O)

I know of this problem, but I don't think I will correct it in the
actual code I really want to backport from the old devel-version the
tabular-insets and first make a decent text-inset, but for this I have
to wait till the Painter is implemented and PainterBackend so that we
can also move the general inset.[Ch] from the old sources!

This can be fixed by or removing the offending line from the multicolumn
or/and put in the Extra-Options for multicolumns only a 'c'!

I was sure there are no bugs in the tabular code, me ..., BUGS ...,
in my code ..., bah how could that be! Missing feature yes, but BUG
naaaaaa #:O)
