Indeed. It seems that emails from you with subjects "Towards LyX 1.4.x [status update #x]" generate these patches. People, if you have some fixes you want in 1.4.x, please try to get them in as soon as you have them. That really makes testing easier and avoids brown paper bag bugs and speeds up the release procedure as well. One other thought: We can not fix all known bugs, not even all known serious bugs in one 1.4.x release. If we'd try that it would never happen. Therefore it is no problem at all if we do a release with known problems. These are in the current version, and they can stay a little longer. That does of course not mean that we should not try to minimize the number of unfixed bugs, but waiting to release all the other bug fixes just because of one or two bugs is not worth it. Georg
