You may have missed it but the email got to mail.lyx.org but it complained
about too many hops (>25). Although at the moment I am measuring only 24
hops from my local machine (10 less than my record and 8 less than the
usual!)

I restarted my machine and didn't run ssh-add2 so that I could check which
key it was expecting. It asked for the passphrase for the new key I
created (so far so good) then gave the error again:
Sorry, you don't have read/write access to the history file
                /usr/local/lyx/cvsroot/CVSROOT/history
        Permission denied

If I try:
        ssh2 baywatch.lyx.org
        export CVSROOT=":ext:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/local/lyx/cvsroot"
        cvs co lyx-devel

I get:
        Permission denied.
cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above
        messages if any)

So it doesn't look like it's just because I've changed my local machine.

In any case the MAC address and IP of my new machine are:
        00:90:27:36:07:e7 130.102.96.169 galah.elec.uq.edu.au
just in case.

nslookup agrees with host. Ping however uses the right addresses now that
I've added entries to /etc/hosts on my local machine. Before I added the
entry to hosts cvs was giving me "server not found" errors.

The right addresses being: 195.0.254.206 for baywatch/cvs.

And what sort of music do they play? Is mx shorthand for machine or
mexico? I have no idea what you are talking about...

Hopefully.

I was ssh2'ing to aussie not cvs'ing. All cvs access attempts were to
cvs.lyx.org which maps to baywatch.lyx.org which is still reporting as
129.240.74.11 from all the machines I use (several in the elec.uq.edu.au
domain and this one mailhost.uq.edu.au).

Like I said all cvs attempts and checks were done on or to baywatch.

Well I have effectively done that now.
