I do not know whether the messages send during this meeting were seen
as particularly bright and witty, but I am personally appalled by the
pompous bullshit we have been served.

This would not have been so problematic if the action in the svn code
was not on the same level. It seems that there has been some nice
action on some fronts, but the brutal removal of qt4 and gtk and the
fact that Denmark may think that utf8 is good enough (and we can blame
latex if it does not work) make me rather bitter.

I am not going to be maintainer of a 1.5 release which is a setback
from 1.4. It was already painful enough to tell users that there was
nothing to be done for the performance (in particular) of 1.4; I do
not see myself trying to sell the fact that it was not so important to
even try to have a 1.5 that really fixes previous problems (as opposed
to implement shiny new features).

PS: and I can tell you that at the next
"we-have-to-get-rid-of-this-or-that" flamewar, I will get entirely out
of LyX work. I am not going to endure 6 more months of this hell;
developing free software is supposed to be enjoyable.
