I can understand your wish, but apart from the thoughts Andreas, Martin and others shared there is one reason for which alone it is extremely unlikely that LyX will ever be integrated into OOo: The complexity of the OOo code. Have you ever looked at it? The LyX code is not exactly small, and it uses a lot of third party libraries (too many for some people's taste), but this is easily topped by OOo. In OOo there are more abstraction layers, and such beasts as ICU are used. They even need to use STLPort. I know this from the attempt to rip out the WMF handling code for a WMF -> EPS converter I needed (and still need). I gave up, because it was rtoo complex, and used _a lot_ of utility functions spread over the whole package. Of course this may have changed in the mean time, so take my words with a grain of salt.
