You know, Vista will rule sooner or later, which means an application using 1% of what vista itself uses is acceptable. I do agree that syntax highlighting cost CPU time. qt4 implementation seems to be fine because it only highlight displayed (viewable) texts.
and the current state is bad because they are not implemented properly (hardcoded colors, no consensus about the dock stuff)
I do not care about hardcoded colors becuase 99.9% lyx users will use default colors. It should not be too troublesome if people would like to add it themselves. IMHO, the dock stuff is absolutely good to have. Cheers, Bo
