You know, Vista will rule sooner or later, which means an application
using 1% of what vista itself uses is acceptable.

I do agree that syntax highlighting cost CPU time. qt4 implementation
seems to be fine because it only highlight displayed (viewable) texts.

I think Georg was talking about developer's life real time ;-)

I do not care about hardcoded colors becuase 99.9% lyx users will use
default colors.

I tend to agree... I've never used the color configuration dialog, except for testing. Of course "I != everybody" :-)
