Hi!

I'm sorry -- I threw this whole thread off in a wrong direction, and it turns out that I was mistaken: the current status of Arabic support in the frontend, as far as I can see, is perfectly all right: the shaping takes place correctly, and positioning of the cursor is correct. What threw me off was the fact that I hadn't changed my screen fonts to an Arabic font --- so for some reason I was still seeing Arabic letters (I'm not sure how that happened), but I was getting the wrong metrics information. However, with the correct screen fonts, everything seems okay.

So again, I'm sorry for having steered this thread in the wrong direction. And Abdel --- sorry, but I've yet to see a compelling reason to hand everything over to Qt ;) .

I'll respond to the issues raised by Mostafa in a separate mail.

Dov
