1) The few fonts defined in ArabTeX are not beautiful and I don't know of any other fonts can be used with ArabTeX, while ARABI uses the many free fonts available on the Internet and it is possible to add more (at least I can and I have done this). 2) ArabTeX is not based on BABEL while ARABI is based on BABEL. 3) It is possible to use ArabTeX completely with ARABI package. In other words ArabTeX and ARABI are fully compatible. 4) Considering the handling of "Ligatures and Vowels" ArabTeX outperforms ARABI. 5) ArabTeX can be used for Hebrew too (though obviously for Hebrew another package is uded), but ARABI just for Arabic and Farsi and moreover ARABI and IVRITEX cannot be used together. 6) With ArabTeX it is not necessary to do anything special about the numbers but with ARABI the case is similar to the LyX support of the Hebrew language currently. The question is: which one to use? --------------------------------- Expecting? Get great news right away with email Auto-Check. Try the Yahoo! Mail Beta.
