in other respects i disagree:
- there was already request in bugzilla to allow more themes.
you just WONTFIX it by claiming that oxygen is the right (TM) icon set.
I remember some bug report with unclear wording, maybe I misunderstood.
I'm not saying that Oxygen is the only possibility. I think we should design
something better and fix the usability issues with the current icons.
- i dont see much harm to allow other sets. one more combobox in prefs...
I don't agree that adding more options is a good thing. LyX already has too
many options. Adding one more may seem like an easy fix, but if we keep
accumulating more and more settings things get more complicated for users
and more difficult for developers to maintain. Especially the maintenance of
icons will take a lot of time which cannot be spend on e.g. new features.
Sometimes I think it's up to the developers to find a reasonable compromise,
rather than to ask all users to make yet another decision.
my reasons are not useful for future designs and its not reasoning, but
feeling.
i dont feel any disturbance with the current set so why to suffer from
reprogramming my mind maps for new toolbars.
Right, so if I understand correctly it's mostly about design?
Do you agree about the usability issues with the current icons?
