Why is MSVC 2010 required? What feature do we use that is not in MSVC 2008?However, I can successfully compile LyX with the linked hunspell.
Hunspell probably works because it's a C library, although now you need both the 2008 and 2010 runtimes. C++ libraries will crash.
I'd definitely recommend you to upgrade to MSVC 2010 so we can both compile the official releases.
