I appear to have corrupted my repository somehow. I can do a "cvs diff" from
src/frontends/xforms but not from the root directory:

Fortunately, this doesn't matter for this patch, all changes being local to
FormPreferences.
Here, then, is the patch. Note that it was created from within
src/frontends/xforms, so should be applied from there. The ChangeLog should
also be applied by hand.

(Colors tab): Use X11 names of the form #rrggbb, meaning that the X11
name browser can be removed entirely from the form. Can now choose any
color you want. Improved functionality, simpler code and GUI!
