This time the dialog-text appeared, but the memory consumption started again.

This is the same, as I observed at the start of this thread.

From then on until now, I was not able to see it again.

JMarc's post showed some heavy memory consumption in the BibTeX parser. I wasn't able to get any kind of hit when I put a breakpoint into InsetBibtex::parseBibTeX(). But maybe your file is different from any I tried. Can you see if that's getting called during the search?

I have to say that the memory stuff is a bit opaque to me.
