Of course, you'll have arguments for everything, but the problem is that you're

installers publicly via non-official channels, and in the meanwhile you leave a

you misunderstood me. I put the installers on sourceforge that you can put them on ftp.lyx.org. I cannot put them there because i don't have write access, but you have. So if you give me access, I will put them there directly, also the test installers.

Concerning the dictionaries, we can leave them on sourcefogrge as backup, because the installer tries will install them from there silently, so that now malware etc. comes into play, nor can the user see that they are from sourceforge. The installer can also look for dictionaries we put on ftp.lyx. but then I need access to it.
