I don't think we need to do anything short-term. What we learned in this discussion is that adding new styles to an existing layout can cause problems as well, so we should be careful. IMHO the best thing is to use a versioned layout file as you suggested if in doubt, but this is probably best decided on a case by case basis. Georg
