Hi Koji

Thanks for asking. I actually have crashes quite often (every few hours) and I
also had them with LyX 2.4.4.

My main document is a math book of about 1800 pages which is spread out over 13
child documents. There are two type of crashes I have seen, but I was unable
to produce a minimal example file:

1) I am in a math inset and try to get out of it with the right arrow key.
Then the program may crash but does not always crash.
2) I am in a math inset and use the ^-key to type an exponent. The crash may
happen after I type the first letter of the exponent. I did notice that the UI
typically slows down in this situation, i.e., it takes a small but noticeable
fraction of a second until the ^-key registers. I find this strange because
my machine is reasonably fast (16 inch M1 MacBook Pro)

Immediately after a crash I have been able repeat 2), if I get into the same
inset. The LaTeX code corresponding to the inset looks unremarkable (as shown
by view -> code review pane). I have not been able to crash LyX when editing a
small document. I do have the feeling that crashes occur more often when I have
two views of the document open side by side. But they have (more rarely) also
happened when I had only one view open.

The original documents are not affected. So I do not lose a lot of text if I
save often.

Regards, Marcus
