After I committed the revision work to www.lyx.org I started playing with
my development site again.
You almost certainly saw the results of that.
Does www.lyx.org do the same unreadable pages?
I doubt it will because what you describe is similar to what I saw when
trying to get a choice of background image or solid colour.
Will try a different approach soon. In the meantime please try
www.lyx.org and report back if you see the same unreadable pages.
