Yes, they did.
However if you have only one adjective (wide) some languages will have
problems with eg "Algorithm" being masculine and "Figure" being feminine
if they have no gender invariable translation for wide (like Spanish I think).
But in French "large" can do the trick so I'll stop complaining...
