Try the attached failed_clip.tar.bz2. It contains temp.lyx and time_40.eps. I 
modified the Bounding Box of time_40.eps manually to 30 30 200 180. (ie, 
moved the bottom left hand corner from 0 0).

Press the clip button and watch the top right corner shrink!
