I think we should not even try to avoid replacing files when running without a /tmp file (or when exporting). However, the eps files should go in /tmp when using /tmp (as for include files). Concerning replacing files, lyx could try to keep track of the files it created by itself (a file with a list of files and crc), so that it knows these files can be safely overwritten. But showing dialogs at every run asking whether file foo.eps can be overwritten will soon become annoying. On the other hand, I fail to see why having file foo.agr and foo.eps, where foo.eps is not generated from foo.agr makes much sense. JMarc
