I would be very happy already if the label text were greyed out... but I
see no *simple* way to do that. If you do, I'd love it -- but don't do
it if it adds gratuitous complexity. Greying out the menu entry should
already get the message across -- if *that* can be done simply. 

Remember, a non-valid shorttitle inset generates no LaTeX.
