I tried LANG sk_SK too. This time there was a core-dump. This is why 
I patched getSymbolName() too. 

But wait ... inserting latin-2 chars is working, but inserting aacute is not ok.

The unicode is NOT zero now.
(gdb) p (int) s.ref(0)
$5 = 1083441377 == 0x409400E1

The last byte (0xE1) is clearly aacute, but I cannot interpret the others.

The key is 65535!, which I didn't expect either.
