Yes, it does. Nevertheless the comparison did not work.

it is the unicode of the first char.

I was trying to get the unicode. But the value for latin-2 was constantly 0.
        (Function const QChar *QString::unicode())

Later I found ref(), and used it, but with same result. So it was left there ...
