No special scenario needed. Simply cutting and then undoing the cut
places the cursor at the beginning of the restored text. Must be
patch-related if you're not seeing it. (I don't remember seeing this
one prior to the most recent patch.)

Cannot reproduce, with the patch. If you select right-to-left, cut and
undo, the cursor will be where it was at the moment of cut, to the left
of the restored text. If yuo select left-to-right, it will be at the
right of the restored text. This is with the latest patch.

cut - paste - undo - undo is similarly consistent.

Ah -- and now checking 1.3.6 I see that's how it works there. The Mac standard is always to put the cursor at the end of the text, which is what made me think this was anomalous. I guess LyX is just more intelligent!
