Hello,

I have tried LyX 1.4.0 cvs.
When I try to create a new document,
- a first window opens with
"LyX: Conversion script failed, /home/rebollo/.lyx/templates/default.lyx is from an earlier version of LyX, but the lyx2lyx script failed to convert it."

- then another window with
"LyX: Could not read template, The specified document template ~/.lyx/templates/defaults.lyx could not be read."

- then LyX crashes when this command line output:
"Default language "frenchb" not found!
Using "english" instead!
Warning: this system's locale uses Unicode.

When I try to open an existing LyX 1.3.5 document, I only get the first window, and the command line output about getopt.

I have read the getopt problem is related to my Python install, but I have a standard Fedora Core 4 distrib, with Python 2.4.1 installed.
