Actually I think that John set the 1.4.0 target because at that time we thought that math-insert was broken in general. Fortunately thsi has now been resolved. For me it is not too important to have this in 1.4.0. Maybe we should create a fix that does not completely revert to 1.3 behaviour (always require delimters), but makes it possible to convert with or without delimiters. Georg
