The problem occured on my office computer which I cannot access from
home. I shall report to-morrow.
On my laptop (Win XP) I installed the current version from the Wiki page
and updated my MIktex. The installation went smoothly (no complaint
about the c:\Program Files\Lyx1.4 folder).
The math inserts did not work. I removed dvipng and reconfigured Lyx.
Now instant preview was o.k.
I have assigned a disk (flash drive) to Letter J. No problem occurred.
I created a virtual disk with drive letter J (with Microsoft's Virtual
CD-Rom utility, no drive image mounted). The problem occurred just as
described in my previous mail:
Exception caught:
boost::filesystem::is_director etc.
