The easies is perhap to create a ascii_guill:
docstirng ascii_guill;
ascii_guill += char_type('<')
ascii_guill += char_type('<')
And use that for comparing
if (disp == ascii_guill)
...
Or we can create a operator==(docstring const &, char *)
We have some options, but I and sure on the best way.
