But this contradicts the fact that gtk is much faster that qt3.
No, I think it just means that qt3 scrolling is not implemented correctly.
Also, I think the way the metrics and fontmetrics are implemented in the
core does not benefits qt3 (and qt4). I think there is two much
communication between the core and the frontend.
