1.4.3svn already contains some important bug fixes and nices

I guess Joost is working on a msvc build, with some complications from
aspell etc.
Indeed. I'm trying to create a 1.4.3svn release compiled with MSVC.
Joost, while MSVC is supposed to be better than mingw, I would like to
point out that the Qt3 frontend will probably not be supported for LyX 1.5.
This means that the Windows port will be based on Qt4 (actually, the
primary motivation for switching to Qt4!).
No please don't use this argument or you're going to give wrong argument
to linuxers! (:-)). We should (will?) switch to the qt4 frontend because
that's the right thing to do development wise for all platform including
linux.
In any case, I have switched already.
A free and official qt4
library from Trolltech is available for mingw only. So unless we want to
make our lifes unnecessary complicated (or buy a Qt license), we should
stick with mingw.
I don't agree with that, we always had distributed our own compiled Qt
dlls. Distributing MSVC compiled library is no different than Mingw.
Working with MSVC is _much_ more efficient than with mingw. I am not not
talking about the IDE (while it is nice for debugging) but about the speed.
