I've now finished the rest of your list. Here are my questions and annotations:

6.5.2 Bibliography databases (BibTeX)

Second paragraph

I think that for beginners, Nicholas Markey's 'Tame that BeaST' is a better
introduction; it's at
www.ctan.org{\//}tex-archive{\//}info{\//}bibtex{\//}tamethebeast{\//}ttb{\_}en.pdf

Many thanks for pointing me to this beautiful manual. I referenced it now.

6.6 Index

General comment: the sub-sub-sections are really at a far too detailed level
and should be in Additional features.

I might seem so, but without them, indexing is not really possible. So we decided to have one complete description in the UserGuide.

6.6.5 Index Entry Layout

Greyed out box

. . . because xindy requires you to define . . .

You always want to write "requires you to" and "recommend you to". But in these cases the passive was used not the active. So it it not allowed to write "The program requires to start bla...."?

many thanks and best regards
Uwe
