Could there be some consensus on the fact that (the
home-built) LyX1.1.1pre2 does not listen to the LANG
(or LANGUAGE) enviroment variable?
At least that's happening in my case and I do believe
more people have that problem too.
Possibly 1.0.4 suffers from this as well.

I had earlier an RPM precompiled (if I remember well,
it was 1.0.2) that listened nicely to the LANG setting.

Where in the code is the crucial point for the LANG
switch?
