Hi Lyxers,
as it seems I'm in a dilemma. Perhaps someone can
help me. Basicly I'm writing in German but sometimes I also need Japanese (in
the same document). So I installed CJK-LyX on an RedHat 6.2J and really managed
to get japanese support for writing and printing -- but I lost the German
support. As far as I see it depends on the LANG variable. If I define LANG as
"de_DE", the japanese support doesn't work. If I define it "ja_JP" the german
umlauts don't work although the document is defined in lyx as language=German
and encoding=Latin1. (By the way the menues appear in German!) I also tried to
define a secondary keyboard as german. But no success: documents written in
German don't appear correctly and I can't write umlauts.
Does anybody know a way to get japanese support in LyX without losing the ability to write in german? Or do I have to use Winword in Vmware for such purposes? Yudit and emacs are possibilities too, but yudit has not enough formatting capabilities (?) and emacs -- well I could give it a try, if I had enough time. German Winword with japanese support has no problem with this at all, but I would like to leave it behind me. Thanks for any help in advance Gerhard Schuck
PS: In the meantime I got some answers to the same
question on another mailing list specialised to japanese computing and it seems
that it is a general problem indeed. But perhaps you can give me some hints
especially with regard to the combination
lyx/ghostscript/tex.
