It seems that Lyx 1.1.6 needs access to some X11 features that are not
implemented in all X-servers by default and which were not accessed before.
I don't know exactly (because I do have reinstalled my complete system, too)
but Lyx does run only after an update of X-Win32 to the most recent version.
Because I do not know the releases of Exceed: Check, if there is a newer
release available and if it runs with that version!
