That is my fault. I didn't test the RPM. I assumed it would just work as
it always has.

It seems to be a problem with the lyx-1.1.6-fix1 install.

Here is the relevant part of the make install:

files=`cd . ; echo bind/*.bind clipart/*.eps doc/*.lyx doc/*.eps doc/*.lyx.in
examples/*.lyx images/*.xpm kbd/*.kmap kbd/*.cdef         layouts/*.layout
layouts/*.inc  templates/*.lyx tex/*.cls ui/*.ui configure configure.cmd scripts/*` ;
\for i in ${files} ; do \
   /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 ./$i /usr/share/lyx/$i ; \
done

It's the 644 that is the culprit. It was added as part of fix1 somewhere.

Can somebody fix this and put out a fix2? Meanwhile, I am pulling
the fix1 RPMs from ftp.sylvan.com
