A problem might be the errors in the interface translation file, de.po
You can get ftp://hst33127.phys.uu.nl/pub/LyX/lyx.mo_1.1.6fix1.gz
and copy it to /usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/lyx.mo
