Sorry, but I have to correct my own correction: if you have this
problem with ae, try to go to /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config (as
a root) and change in file updmap lines from
type1_default=false
#type1_default=true
to
#type1_default=false
type1_default=true
and run ./updmap.
