Is there a lyx way to put two dots over an e (not in maths mode)? My name has such a character in it :) In latex it is \"{e}.

Cheers,

In the minibuffer (the bar at the bottom of the screen) type accent-umlaut e

You can bind this to a short cut key. Search wiki.lyx.org.

Hi,

Thanks very much for that answer. Sadly my problem seems a little more complicated. I am using prosper (Weiss layout) and want the character in the author field of the title page. When I do accent-umlaut e as you suggest, lyx shows it beautifully. However, the letter is completely omitted in the postscript version as if it hasn't been typed at all.

I have attached a very simple lyx file to show what I am doing.

Any help is very much appreciated.
