choose \renewcommand\bibname{ } and write it into the preamble.


it's refname, when you have not a book class.

Thx again! \renewcommand\refname{ } and \renewcommand\refname{fred} in the preamble return no errors but do not do anything either. I've attached a small sample file (which won't really work as you don't have the bib file) for you to see.
